Enough already with Lucic...

It's like the whole hockey fan world is shocked that Lucic did not get suspended. Big deal. That's how the Bruins play. That's how they have always played. Lucic was not deserving of a suspension for a clean body check. The NHL got it right. Sure, he could have avoided Miller by turning his skate blades two inches to the left, and sure he could have not had a sly, smirk look on his face during the post game interview, and yes he could have spared us all the bogus line about "bracing himself" for the hit, but those are not reasons to suspend a guy who cleanly body checked a goalie in pursuit of a loose puck in the middle of the ice.

Did Tim Thomas get assessed a penalty for levelling Sedin in the Stanley Cup Finals last year? Not last time I checked.

The Bruins are the Bruins. You can reel them into taking asinine penalties and let their own frustration get the better of them while that team goes on to winning the game by capitalizing on the power play opportunities (Habs twice, Carolina twice) or you can get your butt kicked by them on any given night. Just show up against them.

If you are not willing to stand up for your team mates on hockey plays like Lucic on Miller, then don't expect Shanahan, the Sheriff of the NHL, to go and do the dirty work.

Bottom line, Sabres let their goalie down, demonstrated fragility and let the Big Bad Bruins continue to do their thing. That's their problem.

Business as usual in my eyes.
